#bookstagram hunky highlander

Date night with a hot cup of Bigelow tea and a hunky highlander..

Rumor has it the water on Clan McPherson lands is magical….

Clan McPherson has known peace amongst their neighboring clans for more than one hundred years. That peace is threatened when Fiona McPherson is made chief after the death of her husband.
Known more for her fighting skills than her beauty, Fiona refuses the multiple proposals of marriage that begin to seemingly arise from nowhere. She may be the chief of her clan, but she’s still a woman. It isn’t Fiona they want, but her land and she’s willing to fight to the death to keep it.

Rumor has it Caelen McDunnah has lost his mind…

Caelen McDunnah, the chief of Clan McDunnah, has no desire to remarry. He’s perfectly content to still mourn the loss of his first wife and babe, even if it has been sixteen years. Until he meets the beautiful and feisty Fiona McPherson.
Known to start a fight out of sheer boredom or madness — no one is ever truly sure which — Caelen suddenly finds himself in the middle of battles he has no desire to fight, but fight them he will if it means he can have Fiona McPherson as his own.

There is always a wee bit of truth in every rumor.

#bookstagram Rachael Brownell

My favorite thing about this book is that it follows the characters as they grow up. We first meet Charlotte and Blake when they are young. And just as the quote below, life has ripples. We follow these two and all the ripples in their life.
"There are some that are small and fun to jump in. Others you attempt to jump over, afraid that if you land in them that they'll pull you under. In life, you have to figure out which puddles are worth the risk and which should be avoided at all costs because every choice creates a ripple."
At one point I seriously just dropped my kindle and walked away. I was left emotional. By the End Rachael tore my heart out.. This is such a marvelous book. I had a hard time trying to start another for quite a while after reading this. This story just stayed with me.
my warning - have tissues close by and don't throw your kindle.
“Through the darkness, I found the light, and in that light, I found you.”

cover love ever give you a covergasm?
These covers, yummy! I bought the books simply because they look sexy as hell and I wanted them on my shelf.
They are MC romance and I enjoy those also so it is a win win for this girl.
"We met in a nightmare. The in-between world where time had no power over reason. We fell in love. We fell hard. But then we woke up. And it was over . . ."

#amreading Pretty Dancer

#amreading Cora Graham's Pretty Dancer today with some got Bigelow Vanilla Chai tea. Can't get any better than this!
Since she was a little girl, all she ever wanted to do was dance...
But what happens, when the ones meant to protect you above all others are the ones to hurt you the most?
For Lilly, it was easier to hide within herself and her dancing.
Until the right someone comes along and gives her a reason to fight back. He helps her to trust again. She inspires him to dream again.
With one more performance, her dream is within reach. Her past keeps her struggling for her future, but will she let it stand in the way of her dream, too?
Will her dream come true? Does she have what it takes? Can she overcome the demons of her past and find herself again?
First Love, Humor, Passion, Artistry, a story of acceptance.

#bostagram Carrie Thomas

This is a remarkable YA book! Carrie nailed it and the feels I got I just love this book hard. <3
"Dark, intense, thrilling, emotional, and romantic. My feelings were all over and I felt so much. I can't even begin to explain it.
So I'm going to be totally honest with you by saying I never read the blurb to this book before jumping in and reading it. I was seriously blown away by what the pages held. This story is a darker theme with some very heavy content. I found it to be dark, intense, thrilling, emotional, and romantic. My feeling were all over and I felt so much. I can't even begin to explain it. I honestly was not expecting that.
I fell in love with Abe and Sophia, their strength and their ability to deal with the situation they were thrown in."

Colin by JB Duvne review

Beauty is his obsession ...

It started with the mannequin heads.
They were my escape, my solace, my companions in the darkness.
But the day came when they weren't enough. That's when I started taking the girls.
But Avery? She's not like the others.
She's beautiful -- so beautiful -- but I can't hurt her.
I need to keep her with me ...

He should terrify me.

I'm his prisoner.

I've seen what he did to the others. How can I believe him when he says he won't hurt me?
But there's more to him than darkness. There's a terrible sadness.
And strange as it sounds, a kind of beauty.
I wonder if I can ever make him see himself the way I do?

I have read my fair share of dark romances. I felt this one wasn't really dark. Like on the lower end of the scale. Yea hes a serial killer and all, it just skims the surface and doesn't get all gory and detailed on you. I think I went into the book expecting more than what was there.

This is still a good read. I think it could have really used more of the romance. It came across as just being in the mind of a killer vs a romance growing between a couple.

Colin.. For some strange reason I did like his character! Him and his friend Landon. I think I would read a book on Landon because I have more questions I would want answers to.

The end.. just no. for me it didn't work and it didn't make sense. I rated this book a 3. I think falling in the middle is a perfect rating and I an still confused by this book and not sure I expressed my review.

For some, the Army is a means to an end. For Bryce Matheson, it quickly became his life. He had no time for relationships or the drama that came with them. Instead he played the field, often taking a different woman every night. Until Lacey. She was supposed to be another conquest, one night of unbridled passion. But she didn't fall for his charm, instead she challenged him. Never known to back down from a challenge, he accepted, thinking he would get her out of his system and move on.

Lacey Halloway didn't have time for men. Especially men like Bryce, a man married to his job-who would inevitably disappear for months at a time leaving her waiting at home. She wasn't interested in that kind of life, but Bryce was charming. And hot. Checking off all the marks on her list with his tattoos and bad boy attitude. Except he wasn't a bad boy at all, outside of being a solider. Agreeing to one date, and the promise of a night she'd never forget; she quickly learned her heart wasn't safe from falling.

When one night turns into something more and a war threatens to destroy the man she fell in love with, can Lacey handle the change? Can Bryce claw his way back from a near death experience and be the man he thinks Lacey's deserves? Or will he come back to her at all?

About The Author

Aubree Valentine lives with her husband, twins, and her dogs in Southcentral Pennsylvania. She has always been a writer, from short stories to just ‘words’ from her heart, wanting nothing more, than to one-day push publish on a work of her own. The desire to chase her dreams only grew stronger as she got her start in the Indie world, as a PA for two amazing authors, and began blogging. As her kids approached school age, she decided it was finally time to take the leap of faith.

When she’s not writing, she can be found chasing after her twins or her dogs, curled up with a good book, or still working with some of her favorite authors.

She loves meeting new people and interacting with other readers.

Beachy read anyone?

I need to beat this cold! A summery read might just be what I need. Hot cappuccino and a fire to sit in front of and I might just keep warm today.

How much time do you really need to fall in love?
What would you gamble to hold onto it?

Riches to Rags by Casey L. Bond review

Riches to Rags by Casey L. Bond

Most girls dream of being princesses, but one princess just wants to be a normal girl.

Ella Carina, crown princess of Aelawyn, knows brutality and lies—she’s seen the way her father rules. Princess. Possession. To her father, the words had the same meaning. She was only as valuable as the alliance formed with her betrothal. Her freedom comes from an unlikely place: an attack on the castle.

When the conquering King offers to protect her from the betrothal her father arranged for political gain, she consents. Hiding her within a peasant family is the only way to keep her and her secret safe.

In this simpler life, Ella flourishes and catches the eye of the local Blacksmith’s son. For once, she can be herself and make her own choices, but the life of a princess—even one kept secret—was never meant to be easy.

Trevor, crown prince of Galder has been searching for Ella, but not because of their betrothal. She is in grave danger from the very people who hid her away. His plan is to show her the truth and help her to safety.

Nothing goes as planned. When Trevor finds her, it’s to discover she’s fallen in love with a peasant. Now he has two goals: help her regain her throne… and show her that she belongs with him.

Casey has written another winner. This book has taken my on a journey and I loved every minute of it.  This is such a different take on an old favorite, Cinderella.
What do we get in this book?
Well a young romance blooming, mystery, suspense, and it is all so intriguing. I absolutely loved Ella and Asher. They are just so darn sweet together, and those notes.. sigh..
By the end of this book I am left craving more. I can sit and just imagine more story's that could spin off this book. Casey does such a marvelous job creating worlds and weaving the tales.

This book is worth picking up and giving a shot.

Hooked by Carrie Thomas review

28082617Hooked by Carrie Thomas

Millie Diamond is your typical high school senior. She has great parents, a younger brother, and two best friends who round out her better than average life. Her future is planned out, thanks to her police officer father, who strictly enforces the rules with a firm, but loving hand. Millie is a kind-hearted soul and proper daughter who respects her dad’s authority…until she meets a mysterious new student who stirs emotions in her she’s never felt before.

A drug deal gone bad in South Boston, leaves Cash Davis’ mother no choice but to move him to Tennessee. His life hasn’t been easy, but Cash is tough, and plans on making his future better than his past. Those plans include keeping his head down and finishing high school… but nothing ever comes easy for Cash. His connection with Millie surprises him, and as hard as he tries, he can’t stay away from her.

Millie’s dad arresting him before their first date is definitely not ideal for Cash, and it causes friction between Millie and her parents. Can Millie convince her parents that Cash is the guy for her? Will she still want to after secrets from his past are revealed?

So reading Hooked, I did have to set it aside. I have to say it is like my bookish 6th sense or something but this book did make me cry. More than once even. I would recommend this book to readers who like to fall in love with the couples in the book & who like to get pulled in to the book they are reading. This book did that to me.

"The mystery guy intrigued me. Who was he? What was his name? And how the heck did he get so hot? I sighed deeply. I wish I would have never seen him! It was like I was some silly twelve-year-old, crushing on the latest boy band member."

This book takes place between high schoolers. So you can basically relive those good ole days. It brings so much back. I think teenage love story was really good. I enjoyed it so hard. The journey and struggles of a young love.

"I'm giving you this part of me because you are worth it, we are worth it, and I want to share something with you that no one else has been worthy of, simply because they weren't you."

Carrie Thomas is a YA author I will be a fan of for a long, long time.. She is an author that her books tend to rip my heart out, make me cry, sad, upset, and happy all at once!
She may have to file charges on me! haha but if you feel like stalking her like I do here are a few links to find her:

Heartbreaker by Logan Chane review

They call me a heartbreaker.

I’ve constructed the exact type of life I want for myself--isolated from feelings, and numb to the world around me.

Running from my own fears.
Pretending I own the world.

I get paid to be an a$$hole. Easiest money I’ve ever made.
Until I get paid to be one to her.

She’s the one person who digs beneath the layers to see the truth hiding there.
Being paid to break her heart may be the hardest job I’ve ever done.

Why’d she have to be so pretty? Why do I need her so bad?
Why can’t I just let her go?

They call me a heartbreaker, but little do they know my heart is the one that lies bleeding.

this book is currently 99¢

I am gonna stick with a 2 on this review. It had lots of hotness going for it. But I felt the story lacked. It didn't pull me in like a really good story would. I read through hoping at some point I would be drawn in but wasn't. I feel more depth could be added to the story.
I think Booker's character came across as the author intended from the getgo. As the book description says "I get paid to be an a$$hole." well that is what you get. I am pretty sure I could have really enjoyed his character if the story was different, I do enjoy guys like that in books.
I read everyone else's review and I just didn't get this story like they did I think.

Well this month I am gonna be a bad blogger.... I am not and will not sign up for reviews this month. I have to get back reviews up and caught up on the blog this month. Being away from your blog for any period of time sucks and makes you feel so out of the loop. So I am keeping it small this month and have 4 paperbacks on my TBR. I think I can handle that and maybe knock out a few ebook I have bought..
